Conference Pastor
Our Conference Pastor, Rev. Dr. Anastasia Holman is Director of Chaplaincy Education for the Indiana University Health System. She is an ACPE Certified Educator and Board-Certified Chaplain (BCC) with the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) and the National Association of Veterans Affairs Chaplains (NAVAC). She currently oversees the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Program for the IU Health System. She previously served as the Manager for Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy for the North Suburban Area of IU Health. Anastasia serves as Co-Faculty for the Religion and Spirituality in Medicine Scholarly Concentration at IU SOM.

Rev. Dr. Anastasia Holman, an ordained Elder endorsed by the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, is deeply committed to spiritual care and education. Her passion and commitment to journeying with all people as a pastoral and spiritual caregiver and educator are part of her calling. As a scholar-practitioner, Womanist Epistemology undergirds her personal and professional functioning as a preacher, professor, chaplain, and leader. She is a Trauma Consultant, journeying with women in recovery from racial and institutional trauma. Currently, she serves in Specialized Ministries as the Director of Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Education for the IU Health System. Dr. Holman serves on the Commission on Chaplaincy and serves as the Midwest Episcopal District’s Director of Specialized Ministries for the AME Zion Church. She is an ACPE Certified Educator; the first woman and woman of color to complete this certification at IU Health and in Indiana. She is a Board-Certified Chaplain (BCC) with the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) and the National Association of Veterans Affairs Chaplains (NAVAC). Dr. Holman serves as Co-Faculty for the Religion and Spirituality in Medicine Scholarly Concentration at the IU School of Medicine. She also serves as Faculty for the Daniel F. Evans Center for Spiritual and Religious Values in Healthcare, in addition to serving as Adjunct Faculty at the BSK Theological Seminary. Dr. Holman graduated from Christian Theological Seminary (DMIN) and (MDiv), Indiana Wesleyan University (MBA), and Indiana State University (BS). She currently serves on the board of REM Community of Practice for ACPE, on the board for The Power of One, and Advisory Council for CMR (Conference on Medicine and Religion). She is currently a member of the 3rd Cohort of the BLL EWC Executive Women in Leadership. In 2024, Dr. Holman was the recipient of the President's Values Leadership Award-Distinguished Leader, the highest honor bestowed at IU Health. Dr. Holman loves God and her family.
