Jennifer McChristian

Dr. Jennifer McChristian is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, educator, and the visionary behind Compass to The Crest, a mental and behavioral health practice dedicated to culturally responsive and trauma-informed care. With more than 20 years of experience as both a clinician and executive strategist, she has guided individuals, organizations, and communities toward wholeness, healing, and purpose.


With more than 20 years of experience in direct practice and organizational leadership, Dr. McChristian is known for her creative, inspirational approach that empowers people to identify their passions and pursue purposeful living. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Social Work from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, and her Doctorate in Social Work from Capella University, where her research centered on mentoring and the success of women of color in higher education.
Her work is rooted in the belief that everyone carries the capacity to operate at the “Crest of their Wave.” Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed approaches, and her deep commitment to empowering underrepresented voices, Dr. McChristian brings a perspective that honors both the calling and the humanity of the preacher.
